About the Organization

The Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership (IIGL) is an award-winning, pioneering national-level institution, imparting academic training in International Affairs, Government Studies, Ecology, Environment, Sustainable Development, Cleanliness Education, and vocational and short-term academic training. Established in 2017 by the Confederation of Young Leaders of India (CYL) with active cooperation from the Confederation of Indian Universities (CIU), IIGL complements national efforts and translates the goals of the Government of India and State Governments into actionable initiatives. The institute caters to Government, Non-Governmental, and Private sectors by offering short-term vocational studies, training, research, publications, conferences, seminars, and consultancy services in the fields of International Affairs, Governance, Public Leadership, and Entrepreneurship.

About the Program

The objective of the program is to empower students to become agents of change in the Development and Social Sector. The program is designed to provide candidates with a comprehensive understanding of development practices, social processes, and the skills necessary to work towards societal welfare and progress. It emphasizes the critical aspects needed for humanitarian efforts, focusing on the upliftment of disadvantaged and marginalized groups within society.

This diploma program aims to offer a deep understanding of the theories and practical applications of social work. It equips students with the skills to support not only human welfare but also the well-being of animals and the environment. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including community organization, policy analysis, advocacy, and sustainable development practices.

The program also aims to develop leadership qualities among students, preparing them to become public leaders capable of addressing the complex socio-economic challenges facing India in the 21st century. Students will learn about various development models, project management, and the use of technology and data in social work. Additionally, the course will cover aspects of ethical considerations in social work, cross-cultural communication, and conflict resolution.

Through this program, students will gain practical experience and theoretical knowledge, enabling them to contribute effectively to the development and social sector. The ultimate goal is to create a cadre of well-trained professionals who can lead initiatives that promote social justice, equity, and sustainable development.

Duration: 6 Months

Eligibility

Students with one or more of the following qualifications shall be eligible to pursue the Diploma Programs from Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership (IIGL):

• Students who have completed their 10+2.
• Undergraduate Students pursuing any UG course from any university/deemed to be university/college/institute.
• Post Graduate Students.
• Working Professionals/Researchers.
