The M Phil Program in Social Work offered by CHRIST (Deemed to be University) is a research based program (research degree) which is meant to produce social work professionals in the most advanced and innovative social work research methods and equip to take up a careers in academics or research, and pursue doctoral programmes in social work. The program aims at providing students with opportunities to examine emerging specialties in the field of social work by employing scientific research methods. The intensive training as part of the M Phil programme will generate interest in evidence-based practice in social work.

The programme covers a comprehensive package of training for research students which includes a solid grounding in research methods in general and in specific to social work research, writing articles for publications in peer reviewed journals, and communicating research findings to academic and other audiences. In addition, students are encouraged to focus on Individualized researches in specialized areas.

Eligibility

Basic eligibility for the programme is a pass at the Postgraduate level examination with an aggregate of 55% marks or equivalent grade in Social work or relative disciplines from any recognised University in India or abroad recognised by UGC / AIU are eligible to apply.

(Applicants who are in the final year of their studies should have secured 55% or above aggregate in all the Semesters / Years of Undergraduate Examinations conducted so far. Students writing their final degree examinations in March-May 2018 are also eligible to apply.
