About the Organization
National Law University Delhi is one of India's premier law university, offering courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels.
The primary objective of the University is to evolve and impart comprehensive and interdisciplinary legal education that is socially relevant.
Through this education, we aim to promote legal and ethical values and foster the rule of law and the objectives enshrined in the Constitution of India. Furthermore, the University works toward dissemination of legal knowledge and its role in national development, so that the ability to analyse and present contemporary issues of public concern and their legal implications for the benefit of the public is improved.
About the Journal
The NLUD Journal on LABOUR is now accepting submissions for its upcoming issue. It is published by the Centre for Labour Law Research and Advocacy at the National Law University, Delhi. This double-blind and peer-reviewed annual journal focuses on interdisciplinary scholarship on Labour. Each issue will centre debates on contemporary areas of Labour. The journal’s editorial board is committed to fostering diversity and inclusivity, and we invite scholars, researchers, practitioners and activists to contribute to this academic exchange.
Theme of the Second Issue (2025-26):
This annual thematic journal aims to provide a platform for interdisciplinary writings on labour issues, with its second issue focusing on the theme “Labour, Capitalism and Unfree Labour’’ A few subtopics identified but not limited to this issue are as follows:
- Nature of work, work relationship and occupational style
- Political economy, informal sector and forms of exploitation
- Labour and Development discourse on forms of oppression of labour
- Feminist analysis of Labour, Migration and Exploitation
- Intersectional analysis of Labour confluence
- Marginalised labour categories and historical injustices
- Structure of Labour Law and its exclusion of Labourers
- Just transition debates on labour
- New industries, new cities and new labour
- Urban development and labour
- Outcaste labour in India
- Socio-legal genealogy of Modern Slavery
- Global Capitalism, Global Supply Chains and forms of forced lab
How to Apply
Types of submissions:
- Special Articles [8000-10000 words]
- Short Articles [5000-8000 words]
- Insights/Perspectives [3500- 4500 words]
- Book Reviews/ Case Notes [2500-3000 words]
- Field Notes/Pictorial Commentaries [1-2 Pages]
Submission guidelines:
All submissions (except Book Reviews) should be accompanied by an abstract of not more than 300 words and 5 important keywords. All word limits are inclusive of footnotes. Referencing and citations must conform to the APA Citation style Student submission (UG/PG) will not be considered for the Journal.
Submission process:
All the submissions must be made online at submission portal [cllra.com] or at jol@nludelhi.ac.in
Submission begins from: 15th July, 2025
Deadline for Final Submission: 30th October 2025
