Applications Open for Youth for Tech Futures (YTF) Fellowship

The YTF Fellowship is inviting applications from youth across India to conduct research at the intersection of emerging technology, society, and digital futures through a 4-month structured program. ​

The fellowship will bring together a select cohort of ten research fellows (aged 18-27) to lead original, youth-driven research on how young Indians experience, navigate, and imagine their digital lives.

 

Selected fellows will have the opportunity to attend an exclusively curated two-month academic program led by global faculty experts and practitioners from the fields of technology, social sciences and design.
 

YTF is a fully paid program, with a generous fellowship stipend across the 4-month period of the fellowship. YTF fellows who complete the program will receive INR 1 Lakh as a take-home stipend. 

What will you Research

• Fellows will learn and work across all the thematic pillars of the YDCL, and explore the following questions:​
• What are the unique ways in which youth in India are navigating digital technologies? 
• How do young people inhabit, explore, and circumvent digital spaces?
• What are youth imaginations of digital futures, and how are they different from our mainstream assumptions?
• Finally, what digital future do young people in India want, and how can we build these futures with them?

Who can Apply?

• 18-27 years of age
• Experience in designing and/or conducting workshops at the grassroots is a bonus
• University Student or
• Early Career Professional
• Prior research work, done as part of university projects or workplace is a plus
• People who have worked with youth communities anywhere in India are preferred
