Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program

The Stanford University is accepting applications for its Knight-Hennessy Scholars program that is designed to build a multidisciplinary community of Stanford graduate students dedicated to finding creative solutions to the world’s greatest challenges.
Program Structure
Leadership Development: Building on departmental programs, scholars will learn to communicate, collaborate, and innovate with their fellow Knight-Hennessy Scholars from other disciplines.
Mentorship: Knight-Hennessy Scholars will have the opportunity to spend time with established leaders in both informal and formal settings.
Experiential Learning: The pace of scholars’ graduate studies will be intense. Given the demands on their time, the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program will provide a flexible array of activities – community experiences, group workshops, meetings with leaders in their field, and personal development opportunities comprising the King Global Leadership Program.

- Pursue any graduate degree at Stanford, from PhDs in arts, education, engineering, humanities, or social sciences to professional degrees in business, law, or medicine.
- Build skills in leadership and communication that will empower applicants to work across disciplines and to scale creative solutions for complex challenges.
- Students who earned a bachelor’s degree in 2013 or later are eligible to apply to the pioneer class of Knight-Hennessy Scholars.
Eligibility Criteria
- Stanford University encourages applications to the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program from citizens of all countries.
- Applicants are eligible to apply to the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program if they are applying to enroll in a full-time graduate degree program at Stanford (for example, but not limited to, JD, MA, MBA, MD, MS, or PhD) or if they plan on pursuing one of Stanford’s many joint- and dual- graduate degree options (for example, but not limited to, MD+PhD, JD+MA, MBA+MS).
- Applicants are eligible to apply to the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program if they apply within four years, and enroll within five years, after they earn their first/bachelor’s degree.
- Beyond the eligibility requirements listed above, applicants are eligible for the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program as long as they meet the requirements of the Stanford graduate program(s) that they wish to pursue. They must complete the entire application process for their department – including any standardized test that their discipline requires (GMAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, etc.) and, if needed, an English proficiency test.
