The Gravity & String group of department of physics, IIT Ropar invites applications for two Post Doctoral positions for 1+1 year duration. These two positions are funded by the ISIRD project grant of IIT Ropar of the two faculty members of the Physics Department, Dr. Shankhadeep Chakrabortty and Dr. Sourav Bhattacharya.

Eligibility:

Candidate should have either (A) defended his/her PhD thesis or (B) submitted the thesis at the time of joining. Category (B) have to complete the viva within three months from the date of joining (extendable by another three months in special cases).

Fellowship Amount

Category (A) denoted in Eligibility: Between INR. 45,000-50,000/- consolidated (depending upon experience and qualification) Category (B) denoted in Eligibility: INR 40,000/- before thesis defence and INR 45,000/- onward from thesis defence.

Contingency Grant: A contingency grant of Rs. 1,00,000/- per annum will be provided to the Post-Doctoral Fellow for research purposes, attending conferences and academic visits. Unspent amount can be carried over to the next financial year.

Duration:

The duration of the fellowship will be for a period 1+1 years. Renewal needs to be done each year based on satisfactory performance and relevant recommendations.
