Global Fund Partnership Photo Contest

About the organisation:

The Global Fund is a 21st-century partnership organization designed to accelerate the end of AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria as epidemics.

Founded in 2002, the Global Fund is a partnership between governments, civil society, the private sector and people affected by the diseases. The Global Fund raises and invests nearly US$4 billion a year to support programs run by local experts in countries and communities most in need.

We’re excited to announce our first Global Fund Partnership Photo Contest!

If you are 18 years or older and involved in the implementation of a Global Fund-supported grant or program anywhere in the world, we invite you to participate. Show us how the work you’re involved in is helping to save lives.

Your photos will help us show the importance and impact of the work being done across the globe to accelerate the end of AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria as epidemics.

We will award prizes in two categories:

• Impact against HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria
• Building better systems for health

Participation Rules:

 This contest is open to any individual aged 18 years or older who are involved at the national, regional, or community level in the implementation, coordination, or monitoring of a Global Fund grant or a Global Fundsupported project. Communications staff/consultants, programmatic and grant-related staff/consultants, medical staff, community workers and volunteers are welcome to participate.

Excluded from participation are:

• Global Fund Secretariat staff
• Freelance photographers who were commissioned to document Global Fund-supported work
• No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win this contest.

To be eligible for prizes, participants must submit the following materials:

• 1-3 digital photos per person per contest, with files submitted in JPG, at least 2MB file size each
• One completed, signed and scanned Entry Form
• Scans of the signed Global Fund release forms
• The images and scans must be submitted through WeTransfer.com to photos@theglobalfund.org
• No more than three photos may be submitted per person for this contest.
• Only photos shot on or since 1 January 2016 are eligible for competition.
• Incomplete submissions will not be considered for competition.
• Participant’s personal details will not be shared with any third party

Selection of the Winning Photographs:

A judging panel of three Global Fund staff members with extensive professional experience in photography and visual communications will evaluate the photos on three criteria:

• Technical quality (composition, lighting, color)
• Narrative quality (does the photo tell a compelling story?)
• How well the photo fits the contest categories (shown below)

Contest Time Frame:

• This contest is open to entries until 30 November, 2018.
• Winners will be notified by e-mail by 15 January 2019, and have 14 days to respond. In case of no response, the Global Fund reserves the right to give the prize to another participant.
• Awards will be sent out by regular mail by latest 28 February, 2019.
