Innovator Awards: Digital Technologies are open to researchers who are developing digital healthcare innovations that could have a significant and measurable impact on human health.

Individuals and teams from not-for-profit and commercial organisations can apply. Organisations can be of any size, based anywhere in the world.

Funded organisations must sign up to our grant conditions (see the template award letters in the 'How to apply' section on this page).

Researchers working in any discipline and on any type of digital technology can apply. Examples of digital technologies include:

• intelligent: artificial intelligence and machine learning
• data driven: data analytics and informatics
• immersive: virtual and augmented reality
• connected: internet of things (IoT), networks and sensors.

Your proposal

In your proposal, you should describe:

• the global burden of the disease or condition that you want to address
• the unmet healthcare need
• the patient population that you want to reach and the impact that your healthcare innovation could have on their health
• why your healthcare innovation will be significantly better than anything that’s already available or being developed
• the route to patient impact and, if applicable, how it will fit within the clinical pathway
• the evidence supporting your proof of concept
