Apply for 9th UNESCO Youth Forum-Youth for Change 26-28 October 2015-UNESCO Paris, France

The UNESCO Youth Forum is an integral part of the General Conference (32 C/Resolution

82). It was initiated in 1999 to create synergies between the Organization’s work on youth, youth organizations and public institutions in this field.

The preparation of the 9th UNESCO Youth Forum builds on the results of i) the evaluation of the Forum’s 8th edition1

; ii) online consultations involving young women and men on the Forum’s thematic focus 2

; and iii) exchanges with all UNESCO Programme Sectors at

Headquarters and in the Field, as well as with international partners working in the field of youth.

Application criteria

- You should be between 18 and 24 years old at the time of the Forum.

- You should be able to show some leadership, engagement or initiative undertaken in your community/country/region or globally, preferably related to:

o the post-2015 process and/or on issues related to the sustainable development goals, with specific focus on education and skills for sustainable development and employability, diversity and culture of peace, or rights and freedoms; OR

o climate change issues, with specific focus on awareness-raising through media, mobilizing traditional knowledge and local environmental management practices, or youth solutions to address climate change;

- You should be able to cover the expenses related to your travel and stay in Paris on the  occasion of the Forum.

- You should not have participated in previous editions of the Forum.
