In the Indian society girls still face impediments in acquiring access to education owing to poverty, conservative mind set in certain regions and communities, cultural reservations, discrimination and myriad of other reasons.

As a tiny step towards making the access to education relatively easier for girls of certain reserved and backward communities in and around Ghaziabad, Laxmi Sansthan has been making efforts to create awareness regarding importance of education and vocational training for the Girl child.

NEC Technologies India private Limited-CSR team recently joined hands with Laxmi Sansthan to cater to the educational and vocational training needs of poor and backward adolescent girls by providing funds of Rs. 405,900for a project ‘Educate, Skill & Grow: More power to adolescent Girls’. Under this project Laxmi Sansthan is imparting not only theoretical education but also vocational know how for enabling the female students to earn their own livelihood and to lead a life of self-dependence and dignity.Enabling them to earn their livelihood is the first and foremost step towards strengthening the position of the women folks especially in conservative communities where females are not allowed access to the basic human rights and the dignity as an equal being in the society. They are also being trained in life skills which are necessary to navigate and adapt to a fast changing outside world.
