JanaJal partners with the Wildlife Trust of India to provide Water on Wheels(WOW) at Gaj Mahotsav

JanaJal - India’s first dedicated water services company - has partnered with the Wildlife Trust of India to ensure supply of clean drinking water to all the participants of Gaj Mahotsav through its portable water vehicle called WOW. The event witnesses a minimum footfall of approx 1500 people per day that JanaJal will serve.

Gaj Mahotsav (a part of the Gaj Yatra campaign)  is undertaken by the Wildlife Trust of India in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) and United Nations Environment (UNEP) to celebrate the majestic Asian Elephant as India’s National Heritage animal and is going on at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts.

The  Festival will bring together policymakers; leaders of industry; eminent conservationists; influencers from the world of entertainment, sports, art, and culture; the citizens of Delhi and school children to celebrate the Asian Elephant and  is a first of its kind platform to support single-use plastic free program.

The event is marked by the presence of dignitaries like Dr. Harshvardhan, Hon'ble Minister MoEFCC. Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Hon'ble Minister for Culture, Smt. Maneka Gandhi Hon'ble Minister for Women & Child Development, Ms. Dia Mirza, WTI Brand Ambassador, Mr. Prasoon Joshi, Lyricist & Creative Director among others.

Parag Agarwal, Founder & CMD JanaJal said, “We aim to target two of the most urgent global concerns – Shortage of clean drinking water and Plastic Pollution – through our initiative. Gaj Mohatsav is the very first program of its kind to take an initiative in the same direction and we are more than happy to be able to serve at this event. Recently, JanaJal bagged contracts from the New Delhi Municipal Corporation and installed 26 ATMs out of the 75 ATMs and at Ghaziabad in collaboration with Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam a combination of 150 fixed and mobile water systems. There will also be further additions to nearly 100 water ATMs installed in the Mumbai region at various railway stations through IRCTC.

JanaJal aims to make “Right to Water” a reality in the lives of every Indian through efficient services and extended reach for delivery through WOW – Water on Wheels.The company is working very closely with various global corporates and technology companies to be able to increase its operating efficiency and serve more and more people in a consistent manner.

Social entrepreneurship and gainful employment opportunities to members of the community that are upskilled and trained to conduct themselves as Operators of the water ATMs is an integral part of the JanaJal operating model.
