NGOBOX and Dalmia Bharat Ltd. award the best CSR initiatives of the country at the 5th CSR Impact Awards 2017-2018

The 5th CSR Impact Awards 2017-2018 held on the sidelines of 5th India CSR Summit 2018 were much bigger and better where the sharpest minds from across the country were present at a forum to discuss and debate issues related to CSR. This year, the ‘India CSR Summit & Exhibition' looked more promising with 1800+ organizations, 110+ exhibitors, 3000+ delegates, making it the largest development sector forum in Asia  held at J W Marriott, Aerocity, New Delhi.

22 awards were presented to the recipients after an encouraging response of 110 applications contending in various categories.  Present at the awards ceremony were Sh. Anant Kumar Hegde, Hon'ble Minister of State, Ministry of Skill Development And Entrepreneurship, Government of India, Mr. Mahendra Singhi, Group CEO-Cement, Dalmia Cement Ltd, Padma Shri Mr. Sushil Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, Asian Hotels (West).

Speaking on the occasion, Bhomik Shah, CEO of NGOBOX, said, “We are happy that we received an overwhelming response from 110 companies from across the country this year. The idea of the CSR Summit and the CSR Impact Awards is to bring together companies, NGOs, Government agencies, social enterprises and advisory organizations on one platform to share and learn, showcase their projects and programs; to initiate new partnerships; to find new resources; and to understand how CSR is playing a vital role in developing India.”.

Major highlights of the 5th CSR Impact Awards 2017-2018, co-presented by Dalmia Bharat Group, were Tata Steel Limitedwinning the CSR Project of the Year 2017-18  for Thousand Schools Programme towards Enhancing School Education.Hinduja Foundation also bagged the second position for CSR Project of the Year 2017-18 for Shashwat Gram – Sustainable Rural Development Program followed by Foundation for Excellence India Trust (FFEIT)as a runner up for Sponsoring the education of academically gifted and financially deserving students in India pursuing degrees In Engineering (BE) and Technology (B. Tech). ICICI Foundation bagged the CSR Foundation of the Year 2017-18 award for Inclusive Growth. Kamlanayan Jamanalal Bajaj Foundation bagged the Rural Development and Infrastructure category title for Reviving Rivers/Streams for Improving the Farmers’ Lifeline (The Yashoda Basin project). Nuvoco Vistas Corp Ltd won the Women Empowerment category title for its ‘SAMRIDHI’ project for Sustainable Source of Livelihood and Facilitating Women Empowerment through Mushroom Cultivation. Hero Moto Corp Limited won the award for Special Category   (Old age, Specially Abled and others) for its Project Enable. Jindal Steel & Power Limited (JSPL) bagged the title inEnvironment category for Natural Resource Management through Integrated Watershed Development & WADI (Orchard Development) in collaboration with NABARD.  Swades Foundation bagged the CSR Implementing Agency of the Year 2017-18.
