NLCIL supports women’s empowerment

The Neyveli Lignite Corporation India Ltd (NLCIL) has launched its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities for the fiscal with a series of women’s empowerment initiatives.
Recently, the NLCIL inaugurated tailoring classes for 180 women members in three phases at the Women Empower Centre, Neyveli.
It was planned to launch training classes in light motor vehicle driving, German jewellery making and beautician courses towards the end of the month.
Yogamaya Acharya, President, Ladies Club and Sneha Opportunity Services (SOS) inaugurated the first phase of the tailoring classes for 60 women from surrounding villages in the presence Shanthi Vikraman, Patron, Ladies Club, Neyveli.
According to an NLCIL press release, as part its CSR initiatives, NLCIL has been conducting various vocational training courses in various trades for women from surrounding villages, to sustain their livelihood, increase self-reliance.
