Seesha and Tech Mahindra Foundation havesetup a smart centre in Vanagaram for employment-based skill training programmes in the Automobile sector.  The training centre was inaugurated at Vanagaram by Dr. Jeyakumar Daniel, President – Seesha

In line with the Centre’s National Skill Development initiative, the SMART-T centre aims at training more than 300 ASDC certified skilled talents for each year in the Automobile sector focusing on three courses (Automobile Technician, LMV Driving and Advanced sheet metal & welding including tinkering) in a four month duration course. The programme would train students for industry placements as Automobile service technician, LMV commercial drivers and Welders. The programme also helps students with soft skills such as workplace preparedness, etiquette and basic English and computer skills.

“At Seesha, we are building the capacities of unemployed youth through various skill development interventions.  Automobile industry is one of the leading sector in Chennai where there is a huge demand for skilled labourers.” said Dr. Jeyakumar Daniel, President, SEESHA.

“We want to equip youth from low-income families with skills that will help them begin a career in Automobile sector.

There is a huge gap between demand and supply in the field of automobile not just in Chennai but the entire country.” said Tech Mahindra Foundation’s Mr. Jegan Tharmaraj, CSR Head – Chennai & Coimbatore.Karthi Chandramouli, Location Head, Tech Mahindra-Chennai, Sathyabama Ramadas, Delivery Head – Automotive Accounts, Tech Mahindra, Chennai, Henry Waller, COO, SEESHA, Jegan Tharmaraj, CSR Head –
