UN-ESCAP Trust Fund for Tsunami, Disaster and Climate Preparedness: Call for proposals

In anticipation of a forthcoming replenishment of the Trust Fund for Tsunami, Disaster and Climate Preparedness, ESCAP is calling for project proposals to build and enhance tsunami, disaster and climate preparedness capacities, particularly in end-to-end early warning for coastal hazards.
The 2013-2016 strategy of Trust Fund for Tsunami, Disaster and Climate Preparedness has three main pillars:
- Regional mechanisms
- Special country needs
- Civil society and business sector initiatives
Deadline: 30 September 2015
Organizations that can apply:
- Governments
- Intergovernmental organizations
- UN agencies, funds and programmes
- Academic institutions
- Non-governmental organizations (not for profit)
Geographic scope:
Indian Ocean and Southeast Asian Countries:
Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Viet Nam.
Pacific Island Countries:
Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
Project duration: Maximum 18 months.
