About the Organization

Fast Forward launched in 2014 with a simple belief: tech can help solve the world’s biggest challenges. Back then, the intersection of tech and social impact was still undefined. The term “tech nonprofit” didn’t even exist. So, we coined it and founded Fast Forward to support the builders using tech for social good.

Instead of asking, "Can one person really change the world?" we flip the script: "How can one person’s idea change the world?" Then we go all in — helping builders bring those tech and AI solutions to life. We’re not alone. This work is fueled by funders and partners who believe in the power of tech nonprofits.

About the Grant

The Accelerator is Fast Forward’s longest-standing program for early-stage tech nonprofits. Through the program, tech nonprofits get a $25K philanthropic grant, mentorship, community, and so much more. It bridges the gap between the tech and nonprofit sectors, providing training tailored to the challenges tech nonprofit entrepreneurs face.

Fast Forward’s Accelerator focuses on the unique needs of tech nonprofits:

• Capital: We help you navigate the distinct fundraising landscape for tech nonprofits. And we provide you with $25K+ seed capital to get your tech nonprofit off the ground.
• Content: Our curriculum hits both the tech and nonprofit side of things. On the nonprofit end, participants will learn about things like board development, impact measurement, and volunteer management. On the tech side, we go deep on topics like product, GTM, and strategies for scaling.
• Cohort: Tech nonprofit founders face unique challenges. The Accelerator offers a community of peers who understand those challenges, both within each cohort and across our larger portfolio.

Eligibility

Fast Forward accepts tech nonprofits from anywhere. Your organization must be registered as a nonprofit in your country. They do not accept B-corps or for-profit social enterprises.

They prioritize organizations that are prioritizing their technology. So, they do seek out organizations that have a full-time CTO or plan to hire a technology lead in the near future.
