Grant Amount: 250000000 INR
About the Organization
The Animal Welfare Funding Circle provides funding to Indian non-profit organisations working to improve the welfare of farmed, community, working, and laboratory animals. Grants support evidence-based, high-impact initiatives, including advocacy, research, education, capacity building, and technology solutions, with one-time or multi-year funding of up to ₹75 lakhs or 50% of annual operating expenses.
About the Fund
The Animal Welfare Funding Circle brings together funders interested in advancing strategic initiatives for animal welfare, particularly for farmed animals. We aim for a:
- trusted peer network for donors to co-fund and learn
- single access point for evidence-based animal welfare projects
- time-saving mechanism with shared due diligence (saving 50–70 hours and associated costs) per donor annually
- transparent, open process where 100% of funds are deployed to projects
Our goal is to mobilise ₹25 Cr over three years to catalyse exponential change in reducing animal suffering.
We expect this to result in:
- better allocation of funds
- a stronger animal welfare ecosystem
- a measurable reduction in animal suffering
We will consider one-off grants sized proportionally to your organisation's capacity, up to a maximum of ₹75 lakhs or 50% of your annual operating expenses. We are also open to multi-year grant proposals. We aim to keep the process efficient and proportionate to the size and time-sensitivity of these grants.
