About the Organization

Khyentse Foundation was established to actualize the vision of Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche to preserve and promote the Buddha’s wisdom. Primarily a funding institution, our mostly volunteer foundation is constantly growing and evolving, shaped by the needs and circumstances of the world and those who seek our support. With additional projects funded every year, the efforts and contributions of our supporters and staff allow Khyentse Foundation to reach hundreds of thousands of people who are interested in the teachings of the Buddha. We believe that everyone, whether Buddhist or not, has something to gain from the Buddha’s insight.

About the Grant

Individual Practice Grants support individuals who wish to practice dharma. These grants can be used for an individual or group retreat, or for other kinds of Buddhist practice. KF accepts applications from practitioners and retreatants from all traditions, schools, and sects of Buddhism.

Amount Awarded:

Individual Practice Grant awards are usually in the $500 to $5,000 USD range. Awards may be more depending on the proposal.

Individual Practice Grants are open to the public and aim to support students who wish to practice in a Buddhist tradition. Khyentse Foundation practice grants are awarded for one-year terms. Grant recipients may apply each year for continuing support to fund longer-term retreats.

Applicants will be notified of decisions approximately four months after the deadline.

Eligibility

KF accepts applications from students or practitioners from all Buddhist traditions. Applications are reviewed by an international selection committee appointed by Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche.

Your application will not be considered if:

• Your application is not related to Buddhism or Buddhist activity.
• You have already applied for a scholarship or grant in this round.
