About the Organization
Sarisha Wildlife And Ecology Society established as a Non-Governmental Organization on 3rd June 2014 is registered under the West Bengal Society Registration Act, 1961.
We are determined to tackle major issues such as, Human Wildlife Conflict, Natural Resource Management, Wasteland Management, Forestland Conservation through effective conservation strategies, cutting-edge research and community engagement.
About the Grant
Many individuals and regional organizations are working on innovative conservation plannings or applicable research-based works to support our biodiversity or forest adjacent communities in various ways. This grant is for those enthusiastic individuals or organizations who are looking for small initial supports to kick start their works in the vast field of biodiversity or forest adjacent communities. The grant amount is Rs. 10,000/-. This fund will be provided as the start -up funding. However, there are chances of fund renewal as per the actual outcome of the project.
This grant opportunity will be opened 4 times in a year. In April, July, September and December.

- Zoology
- Botany
- Environmental Science
- Economics
- Evolution
- Wildlife Conservation
- Habitat Conservation
- Natural Resource Management
- Wasteland Management
Eligibility
- Applicant has to be an Indian Citizen.
- Project Duration must be within 6 months.
- Age limit of the applicant must not be more than 24 years, as on 15.04.2025 .
- A single project will be allowed for a particular Individual or Organization.
- Applicants are encouraged to have other matching grants that may help in execution of the project deliverable.
- The particular grant is not applicable for any litigated expenditure and/or undercover/enforcement work.
- 7. WNE-India’s logo must be properly displayed at any poster, banner or related items during the project duration.
- 8. Project grantee must properly acknowledge WNE-India during the publication of anyarticleatapeer reviewed journal, reports, media etc. during the project tenure.
- 9. Project grantees must have relevant permits and documentation while working insideand/orcollecting specimens or samples for the work from any protected area or reserved forest during the project duration.
- 10. Individual and/or organizations are encouraged to reapply for new projects at the successivegrantcycles if even the previous one has got rejected or has been supported earlier. In this case the project evaluation will be independent of the previous applications.
