About GSIP :

Genpact Social Impact Program (GSIP) is a unique, carefully curated one-year full-time fellowship programme by Genpact, in partnership with EdelGive Foundation, the philanthropic division of Edelweiss Group. The programme is curated to identify a few selective people who are willing to prove their capability by working for the benefit of society. It also provides an opportunity to be mentored by some of the senior leaders of Genpact.

The year-long fellowship programme deploys process excellence experts (fellows) to work on high – impact projects in India to bring a systematic change in the social sector. The fellows make use of six sigma skills to transform existing processes thereby bringing a systemic change in the social sector.

Since the launch of the fellowship in 2017, the programme has emerged as one of the most recognized fellowship programs in the social sector in India. As part of the GSI programme, the fellows are deployed on black belt projects with selective non-profits to work around one or more of the following areas:

• Blueprints on the scalability of the existing operating model.
• Identify and work on key output levers of existing programs to drive larger outcomes
• Re-engineer existing processes to make them more robust and impactful so as to deliver exponential efficiencies
• To build social organizations that last for long and that can scale in the communities
• To create process-efficient solutions for non-profit organizations, leading to an amplification of their social impact targets

Here are a few examples of how GSIP benefitted non-profits in delivering better impacts:

• GSIP fellows transformed educational opportunities for 1.6 million government school students through Kaivalya Education Foundation, by allowing the Department of Education mid-managers to focus more on improving learning.
• With Teach for India, the fellows re-imagined a performance management framework and evaluation system which led to an increase in the learning opportunities for 38,000 students across seven cities.
• GSIP fellows transformed the finance and accounting processes for Magic Bus. The fellows streamlined the donor reporting system, tracked under-spend, set up a rigorous governance mechanism, and executed a program implementation plan.
• With Saajha, GSIP fellows developed a robust governance framework that enhanced parental and community engagement to improve children’s learning in government-run schools. The fellows established and improved strong communication linkages that strengthened the process to resolve academic and social grievances of 1029 Delhi government schools, thereby impacting 1.5 million students.

Expression of Interest from Non-profits

Applications are invited from non-profits to host fellows in their organization for one-year duration. These fellows are selected through a rigorous selection process and deployed for full-time work with the non-profits. There is no financial liability of non-profits to host the fellows, neither they have to pay any stipend to fellows, this is taken care of by the GSIP.

Genpact and EdelGive Foundation has commissioned CSRBOX & NGOBOX to invite and shortlist non-profits to host GSIP fellows.

Eligibility to Host a Fellow

Primarily the applicant organization should be eligible to implement a CSR project in India as per the Section 135 of the Companies Act. Minimum eligibility criteria are as given below:

• A registered non-profit organization under Societies Act or Section 25/Section 8
• Minimum three years completion (as on 31st March 2018) since registration
• Three years audited annual reports
• 80G / 12 A

In addition to the above points, the applicant organization should have ongoing and committed projects for the financial year 2019-20 to leverage the capacities and expertise of the fellows.

The Application Process

The application process for non-profits has been structured in three stages:

Level I: Screening

Level II: Advance

Level III: Interaction and Due-diligence

This expression of interest is for the Screening (Level I) of the organization in alignment with the objectives of the Genpact Social Impact Program. Organizations shortlisted for the advance level will be contacted by CSRBOX team to fill in ‘Level II: Advance’ form and will be briefed about the next steps.

Important Note: There is no application fee for this entire process. Only shortlisted organizations, after the screening, will be contacted by Team CSRBOX.
