About the organisation:

Ekjut is a non-profit organization having multistate presence in Indiawith focus on the most underserved areas to address maternal and child health and under-nutrition through community mobilization, research and advocacy. The organisation works towards the empowerment of tribal communities as well as other socially disadvantaged communities living in the remote regions of Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

About Project:

In the state of Madhya Pradesh (M.P) Ekjut,  in collaboration with National Health Mission (NHM) in M.P and National Health System Resource center (NHSRC), New Delhi has mutully agreed to implement a program to improve the health and nutrition  indicators and outcomes of the state of Madhya Pradesh through community processes  The program intends to implement interventions that strengthens the ASHA programme, women’s groups and VHSNCs(Village Health Sanitaion and Nutrition Committees),to improve people’s  engagement and promotes community level action for better health and nutrition outcomes of the people of M.P.

Expression of Interest

Application are being invited from Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to provide support in training and implementation of Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) approach for strengthening of VHSNC to bring positive change on maternal and child health in Madhya Pradesh

Applications are invited from Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) working in Madhya Pradesh to provide support at the district level in training and implementation of Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) module by ASHA Facilitators and ASHAs, a collaborative programme initiative of National Health Mission (NHM) in Madhya Pradesh and Ekjut, in 41 selected blocks (Block list is included in the Guidelines for Application) of

17 districts namely Jhabua, Alirajpur, Barwani, Sagar, Raisen, Damoh, Tikamgarh, Chatarpur, Panna, Satna, Sidhi, Singhrouli, Umria, Sahdol, Anuppur, Dindori and Mandla.

Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) working in Madhya Pradesh and having minimum experience of 5 years of community mobilization and registered under Societies Registration Act 1860/ Trust Act/ Non-profit Companies under the Companies Act 2013 are eligible to apply. Interested NGOs can download application format and guideline from  www.ekjutindia.org. Last date of application is 31 May 2017.

The NGOs will be reviewed on the basis of PLA’s prescribed criteria. Shortlised NGOs will be selected for field level assessment and physical verification and then will be selected for participating in district wise project implementation.
