About the Organization

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The year 1964 was an important landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was declared Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956. Since its inception, the Vision of the TISS has been to be an institution of excellence in higher education that continually responds to changing social realities through the development and application of knowledge, towards creating a people-centred, ecologically sustainable and just society that promotes and protects dignity, equality, social justice and human rights for all.

About the Proposal

National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) has initiated several interventions (such as the link ART centres, Community based screening, etc.) in order to meet its goals and the 90-90-90 objectives. Concurrent, mid-term programmatic evaluations are critical to identify programme implementation gaps of these interventions and appraisal of options to address those gaps so that mid-path course corrections can be implemented. Saksham in consultation with NACO are identifying areas for programme evaluation on annual basis. TISS will design the study proposal, develop study protocols and conduct the research studies. The research studies will be conducted Pan India and needs study documents to be translated in Indian local languages.

We seek a consultancy service related to various research activities for our research teams as and when required. We invite individual consultants/agencies to undertake these services. Individual consultants/agencies shall have relevant experience in providing these services to academic, research and national institutes specifically experience in social and public health sector. Individual consultants/agencies with experience in social and health sector will be given preference.

Scope of Work

Examples of work that Is expected from the consultants that may need to include, but not limited to:

Translation of Study material in local languages:

• Informed consent forms
• Participant Information sheet
• Study tools
• Training material

Transcription from local languages to English of, IDIs FGDs

• Data Collection
• Conducting IDIs and FGDs           '
• Data coding
• Data analysis
• Reports writing

AII the research studies under Saksham Pramaan are Pan lndia, hence we prefer language proficiency. Transcription and translation work will be English to Indian oca languages e.g. Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Telegu, etc. or vice-a-versa though there may be need for other indian languages intermittently as well.
