Solar Electrification of schools/households in Low-Income and Rural Areas Issued by: Bajaj Electricals Foundation

1.  Introduction

Bajaj Electricals Foundation is seeking proposals from qualified organizations (NGOs as the implementation partner) with demonstrated experience in renewable energy solutions to serve as an Implementation Partner for the installation and commissioning of solar electrification systems in schools/ households located in low-income and rural areas.

This project aims to provide reliable, clean, and uninterrupted electricity access to reduce dependence on the unreliable grid and ensure resilience during power outages.

Project Location preference: Rajasthan [Sikar (if possible) ] or any of the Aspirational districts.

2.  Project Objectives

• Install solar power systems in selected schools/households lacking reliable electricity.
• Ensure continuous electricity supply for lighting, charging, and basic educational technology/household usage.
• Monitor and evaluate system performance and impact over time.

3.  Scope of Work

The Implementation Partner will be responsible for:

• Site Assessment: Conduct energy needs assessment for each school/community
• Installation: Install the solar systems
• Training: Train school personnel on basic maintenance and usage protocols.
• Monitoring & Evaluation: Provide monitoring tools and regular performance reports for at least 12 months post- installation.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with local standards, codes, and environmental best practices.

4.  Proposal Requirements

• Company Profile: Overview, legal status, experience in solar energy and similar projects.
• Technical Approach: Detailed methodology, system design philosophy, and sustainability strategy.
• Work Plan & Timeline: Project schedule with key milestones and deliverables.
• Past Experience: Case studies or references from comparable projects.
• Budget & Cost Breakdown: Detailed financial proposal including all direct and indirect costs.
• Warranty and Support: Warranty terms for equipment and post-installation support plan.

5.  Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on the following:

• Technical Approach & Methodology Relevant Experience & References Cost-Effectiveness
• Sustainability & Local Capacity Building Timeline & Work Plan
