Introduction

The Transworld Group of Companies, a multi-faceted shipping and logistics conglomerate, needs a technical resource partner and is accepting proposals in response to this RFP. Because transformational social change requires breaking down the barriers to development and building a strong foundation of knowledge, skills and networks at the grassroots, Transworld Group conducts its CSR work across four issue areas, which act as pillars in the organization’s strategic framework.

The four areas are:

  • Education, Arts & Civic Engagement;
  • Gender Equity & Inclusion
  • Stewardship of Marine Environment
  • Health, Food & Water Security

Each of our four issue areas of environmental and social responsibility reinforces and builds on the company's core values, which are Customer Centrality, Transparency, Integrity, Respect and Excellence; these core values embolden the company’s CSR commitment to funding long-term programs and strategic initiatives which will hone and leverage internal expertise, help NGOs secure external funding and establish partnerships for effective programmatic implementation and impact evaluation.

For this year grant cycle, Transworld is committed to funding organizations aligned with Marine Stewardship. Transworld commits to responsible and sustainable ocean shipping. We are seeking NGO/trusts/Government aided institutes for developing innovative solutions to reduce negative impacts caused by port, harbor and maritime development. The Transworld group will be open to funding grantees and project partners that working on innovations in this focus area. Preference will be given to projects taking place in coastal areas and communities in and around Maharashtra & Gujarat. The grant will be initially for a period of one year, extendable based on annual evaluation. 

Selection Guidelines-

Transworld will consider the following guidelines when evaluating potential grantee and project partners.

1)      Innovation & creativity

2)      A Holistic Approach

3)      Community Involvement & Investment

4)      Focus on sustainability

5)      Dynamic leadership and strong governance.

Eligibility:

A general description regarding the scope of work, eligibility criteria and details on responding to the RFP are available in the attached document.  Please read it carefully to understand our expectations of grantees. All organizations who meet the detailed requirements are encouraged to apply. 

 

1)Not for profit organizations, universities, think tanks, government supported research institutions and social enterprises with prior experience on such projects.

2)Organizations with at least three years of experience and a turnover of 1-3 crores will be preferred.

3)Applicants must adhere to comprehensive non-discriminatory practices in hiring and providing services and must demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion within their organization.

4)Should not have any legal matter/dispute pending in any court of India.
