Context of the Requirement

UNDP in partnership with MoEFCC and with support from Global environment facility (GEF) is implementing a project on “Market Transformation and Removal of Barriers for Effective Implementation of the State Level Climate Change Action Plans” with an overall goal to reduce GHG emissions achieved through implementation of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency solutions at the state level as identified in the State Action Plan on Climate Change (SAPCCs) of Jharkhand. The development objective of the project is to stimulate implementation of climate change mitigation actions stated in the SAPCCs; maximize the benefits through exploring inter-state cooperation; showcase the actual implementation of SAPCCs; demonstrate institutional mechanisms for inter-state networking and cross learning, including information sharing and technology dissemination; and develop and implement a common monitoring system to assess progress on the SAPCC.

Brief Description of the Required Services

Services of an agency is required to support promotion and scaling up of solar micro cold storage implementation through addressing current barriers in Jharkhand. The study is also intended to capture the benefit reaped by the farmers from solar powered cold storages, lesson learned in implementing and operationalizing solar powered cold storages and undertake initiatives towards promotion of similar technology options amongst the FPOs and other relevant stakeholders across all the districts in the state of Jharkhand.

List and Description of Expected Outputs to be Delivered

The deliverables for this task include:

  • Mapping of achievement and potential impact of the solar powered micro cold storage system across short (up to 6 months), and long terms
  • Sensitisation of the FPOs, agriculture market co-operatives (Mandi) and key policy makers (departments) in Jharkhand
  • Mapping demand amongst the FPOs and at Mandi level for solar operated micro cold storage
  • Enabling market eco-system to facilitate implementation of microcold storage unit by FPO/FPC

Intellectual Property

All videos/photographs shot as part of the shoot to be submitted to UNDP.

A detailed report on all filming locations, including names and contact details of all individuals interviewed, and logged tapes to be handed over to UNDP.

All copyright over footage rests with UNDP. The videographer/agency may not use, reproduce or otherwise disseminate or authorize others to use, reproduce or disseminate such works without prior consent from UNDP

Criteria for Essential

Eligibility/Qualification

The agency should have been in the consulting business for five years

The agency has prepared at least five Renewable Energy DPRs for central and/or state governments
