Background

UN Women is the UN organization dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. A global champion for women and girls, UN Women was established to accelerate progress on meeting their needs worldwide.

UN Women supports UN Member States as they set global standards for achieving gender equality and works with governments and civil society to design laws, policies, programmes and services needed to ensure that the standards are effectively implemented and truly benefit women and girls worldwide. It works globally to make the vision of the Sustainable Development Goals a reality for women and girls and stands behind women’s equal participation in all aspects of life, focusing on four priority areas:

▪ Women in Leadership and Governance

▪ Women, Peace and Security/Migration

 The Purpose

The main purpose of developing the short film is to generate awareness towards UN Women’s interventions in India on the following themes:

▪ Second Chance Education

▪ Women Economic Empowerment

▪ Ending Violence Against Women

▪ Women in Leadership and Governance

▪ Women, Peace and Security/Migration

Geographical Scope

▪ Video 1 – Second Chance Education: The video shoot may include travel to Mumbai, Marathawada, Hyderabad, Ujjain and Delhi

▪ Video 2 – Ending Violence Against Women: The video shoot may include travel to 3-4 cities/districts in 4 states across India – Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Delhi.

▪ Video 3 – Women’s Economic Empowerment: The video shoot may include travel to 3-4 cities/districts in 7 states across India – Maharashtra, Telangana/Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Delhi and Karnataka.

▪ Video 4 – Leadership and Governance: The video shoot may include travel to 3-4 cities/districts in 7 states across India – Maharashtra, Telangana/Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Delhi and Karnataka.

▪ Video 5 – Women, Peace and Security/Migration: The video shoot may include travel to 3-4 cities/districts in 7 states across India – Maharashtra, Telangana/Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Delhi and Karnataka.
