The Communications Associate will drive the portfolio of digital and design-led communications for EPIC-India. The candidate will work closely with the Associate Director of Communications and will be responsible for conceptualizing innovative way of communicating research, creating visually appealing communication tools and contributing towards amplification of the research outputs of EPIC-India using social media and other digital platforms.

 

Location: University of Chicago Center in Delhi, New Delhi, IndiaStart Date: Mid December

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize and translate complex research into creative communications content and collateral materials. This includes through infographics, reports, brochures, social media graphics, etc.
  • Contribute towards managing an active online presence, including through comprehensive social media marketing campaigns that include visually impactful and responsive content such as short videos. Monitor and track online presence, record analytics and produce reports.
  • Manage publicity, staging, logistics and other responsibilities surrounding events and general programming. This includes designing publicity materials and carrying out photo and video documentation.
  • Update, maintain, and develop creative solutions to expand EPIC-India’s contact database.
  • Monitor, track and report on media coverage of the institutes’ researchers and issues of topical interest. Contribute to daily news monitoring.

Education

The ideal candidate will preferably have a bachelor’s degree in design, journalism, communications or a related degree with relevant experience.

Experience

  • A minimum of four years of experience designing and producing creative content and developing digital media products, with a proven ability to present research findings in a creative, clear and concise way.
  • Demonstrated experience making project and event related short videos, managing events and generating project related content.
  • Knowledge and understanding of using social media tools to build brand identity.

Competencies

  • The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in graphic design and digital communications.
  • Strong creative skills with proficiency in Adobe Creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is compulsory. Experience with Adobe Premiere, or similar video editing software is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web-based communication methods and tools such as MailChimp and web content management systems required.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize communications needs, perform effectively in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines in a timely manner while maintaining professionalism and product quality.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills, creativity, flexibility and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stay abreast and informed of new trends, best practices, tools and means in Policy and Research Communications space and adapting them for EPIC-India’s communication needs, will be an added advantage
  • Creative and technologically minded individual who demonstrates excellence in innovative thinking and new ways of content creation, will be preferred.
