PATH’s TB program is dedicated towards eradicating TB globally by implementing innovative evidence-based interventions that focus on identifying missing cases and implementing a patient-centered approach to treatment. PATH works for public-private management of TB patients by working directly with local government agencies, community-based organizations, and the national government. PATH is a leader in India for engaging with the private sector, including allopathic and non-allopathic practitioners, hospitals, laboratories, and pharmacies, especially in urban slum settings.

PATH is currently recruiting for Deputy Market Access Manager, who will be a key member of the Mumbai team working on engaging with private providers for TB control. S/he will work on implementing effective strategies to engage the private sector in TB/HIV control across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune in Maharashtra and multiple districts in Uttar Pradesh, and Odisha and any other state that PATH operates in future. S/he will be based out of Mumbai and report to the Market Access Manager.

 Responsibilities:

  • Lead and effectively manage multiple field teams consisting of officers with a background as medical representatives with pharmaceutical or diagnostic firms.
  • Provide guidance to field officers and troubleshoot private sector engagement issues on the field.
  • Monitor performance of field officers against targets and update Market Access Manager on a regular basis.
  • Forge project engagements with private healthcare facilities, enabling network expansion.
  • Effectively communicate with private practitioners and pitch project services to get them on-board.
  • Enable project success by tracking deliverables, coordinating efforts, and identifying and mitigating critical risks.
  • Monitor provider engagement strategies and implementation and suggest and implement project improvements.
  • Conduct trainings for new field officers as and when required.
  • Assess training needs of existing field team and evaluate the need for external trainings.
  • Design effective strategies for private sector engagement and work with Market Access Manager and Communications Officer to develop effective communication tools.

Required Experience

Required skills and experience:

  • At least 10 years of work experience, of which at least 5 years as a regional/state manager with a renowned pharmaceutical, diagnostic, or medical equipment company.
  • An undergraduate degree in basic sciences or biology along with Master’s degree in Business Administration will be preferred
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in MS Office
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing multi location teams of more than 15 people
  • Strong data analytical skills
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
  • Strong interpersonal skills, particularly motivational, negotiation, listening, judgment, analytic, and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment, and to work on multiple work streams simultaneously.
  • Effective time-management organizational skills.
