Job Description
CKD invites applications from qualified candidates for the position of District Coordinators for its programme on Community Engagement for reduction of Zero Dose Children and Improved RI coverage through Health System Strengthening across 6 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Based at the district level, the District Coordinator will work under guidance of the Project Coordinator and Divisional health Coordinator and will be responsible for implementation of project activities in the assigned districts with support from the on-ground partners hired through third party agency. Key responsibilities include on-going guidance, oversight and support to the team of partners working at the allocated project geographies, participation in review meetings with key stakeholders including District Immunization Officer, Block Program Managers and other block team for identifying challenges and progress to reach the zero-dose cohort, capacity building of Frontline Workers and community influencers as well as documentation and data management of project activities undertaken in the Blocks and Sub center/ANM areas.
District Coordinator will supervise a team of Block and Cluster Coordinators at the District level.
Job Responsibilities
Planning and Coordination
- Maintain strong coordination with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), District Immunization Officer (DIO), MOIC, and other development partners.
- Support implementation of the Zero-Dose CSO engagement activities at the block/district level as per the approved plan under the guidance of the State team.
- Facilitate coordination between CSO field teams comprising Block and Cluster Coordinators, and ASHAs, ANMs, in close coordination with Block MOICs for effective planning and mobilization of VAB and ZD children.
- Monthly individual briefing meetings with DM, CDO and CMO.
- Participate in monthly review meetings with the PC/DHC and share progress, challenges, and best practices.
- Resource mapping and orientations of formal, informal institutions/ dept/ and influencers.
- Lead the strengthening of urban health systems for routine immunization including Head Count Survey, area demarcation and population-based microplanning for the urban areas.
- Support Block cum Cluster Coordinators and Cluster Coordinators in preparing monthly work plans aligned with RI micro plans and VAB/Zero Dose load and other key priorities
- Represent CSO partners in district-level planning and review forums, as directed like DTIF, CTIF etc).
Advocacy
- Participation and presentation in DHS/ DTF meetings and meeting minutes shared
- Participation and presentation in monthly EC meetings and meeting minutes shared
- Participation in DWR meetings and meeting minutes shared.
- Support to Block and Cluster Coordinators TTF/ BTF meeting.
Community Engagement
- Planning behaviour change communication activities tailored to local preferences and community needs. Orient the team of assigned partners on the SBCC materials.
- Oversee and guide field-level staff (Community Coordinator and Block Coordinators) in identification and tracking of VAB, Zero Dose and under-immunized children.
- Facilitate social mobilization and awareness activities in collaboration with community influencers, VHNSC/MAS members, religious/community leaders, and CSO partners.
- Monitor household visits, community meetings, and ensure coverage of hard-to-reach and high-risk habitations.
- Ensure timely referral and follow-up of zero-dose children for vaccination.
Data and Reporting
- Support in compilation and validation of field data on Zero Dose children (identified, vaccinated, pending).
- Coordinate with BCs and CCs to ensure submission of Monthly Report on Zero Dose MIS Portal by 3rd of every month and ensure data accuracy MPRs before it’s submission.
- Cross verifies the uploaded BCs and CCs reports on zero dose MIS portal and approve it within time frame.
- Ensure BCs/CCs facilitated VAB MIS reporting of concern Block/planning Unit.
- Analyse field findings to identify low-performing areas and recommend corrective actions.
- Block-wise identification of key programmatic issues and prepare presentations accordingly in consultation and guidance of Project Coordinator and Divisional Health Coordinator.
- Ensure documentation of case stories, best practices.
- Sharing of Media clippings, appeals by leading practitioners/ religious leaders/ politicians etc.
Review meeting and Capacity Building
- District level review meeting of BCs and CCs on monthly basis (input and outputs)
- Support BCs and CCs in conduction/facilitation of block level review meeting of FLWs in poor performing blocks.
- Facilitate preparation of VABs list for RI and identification of family- based influencers across GAVI districts
- Identification of training needs of BCs and CCs, Govt counterpart and partners, prepare training and implementation plans for quality outcomes.
- Support orientation and capacity-building sessions for CSO field staff, community volunteers, and PRI and MAS members.
Supportive Supervision
- Conduct supportive supervision visits to monitor quality of field engagement and data collection.
- Provide on-site mentoring to strengthen interpersonal communication and community mobilization skills.
Reporting and Review Mechanism
- The District Coordinator will submit monthly progress reports to the Project Coordinator and Divisional Health Coordinator and participate in regular review meetings organized by the State Team and Development Partner.
- The District Coordinator will share a best practices case study/success story of their respective filed to the Project coordinators.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
Essential
- Post – Graduate in Social Sciences, Public Health, Rural Development, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in health, immunization, or community mobilization programs at district or state level.
- Prior experience working with government health systems (NHM, RI,) preferred.
- Strong coordination and facilitation skills; able to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office, Excel, and mobile-based MIS reporting).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in Hindi and local dialects.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned block and work in field settings using public transport.
