Job Description
The role of the Education Officer would be in supporting WWF-India’s education, outreach, administrative and conservation initiatives under the Karnataka State Office (KSO). The role requires strong coordination skills, the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders across wide age groups, and a passion for environmental education and conservation. The position involves a balance of programmatic responsibilities, stakeholder engagement, volunteer management, and administrative support. You would also be expected to support any other ongoing work/ projects managed by the Karnataka State office.
Job Responsibilities
Program Implementation & Coordination
- Support planning, execution, and monitoring of education initiatives, coordinating with stakeholders, government agencies, schools, internal teams, and partners in consultation with senior staff.
- Assist with the implementation of environmental education programs and school-level activities.
- Plan and execute nature trails and experiential learning programs for schools, youth and the citizens.
- Support other program teams at the Karnataka State office and tasks as assigned by the manager.
Communication & Outreach
- Facilitate smooth communication between schools, interns, volunteers and the internal team.
- Assist in conceptualising and executing outreach campaigns for global and local events such as Earth Hour and Green Days.
- Represent WWF-India at workshops, conferences, and events to promote conservation initiatives and engage external partners.
Partnership & Volunteer Engagement
- Collaborate with corporate partners to design and implement employee engagement and workplace giving programs.
- Coordinate volunteer-led programs and support volunteer recruitment, training, and retention, expanding the volunteer base.
Documentation & Administration
- Assist in preparing presentations, proposals/concept notes and other documents as required
- Support administration, documentation and reporting and financial tracking of state projects.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelors or Masters Degree Graduate
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the education sector and outward facing roles will be required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to multi-task and work in a team
- Passion for conservation
