Job Description

This position is a Field Consultancy for 2 monthsstarting June 2024 and based in Bangalore, Karnatakawith travel across the state. Fluency of Kannada is mandatory. The consultancy pay will be determined based on experience and level of education.

Job Responsibilities

The Field Consultant will be expected to support qualitative data collection in rural Karnataka. The Field Consultantwill be expected to:

•  Support designing the qualitative interviewinstruments
• Conduct a pilot data collection in a predetermined Gram Panchayats
• Conduct data collection acrossrural Karnatakawith support from Senior Research Associate
• Data entry of interviews, translated from Kannada to English
• Any other relevant tasks assigned.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Required: Fluency in Kannada and English - bothwritten and spoken
• Master’s degree in development studies, political science or other relevant fields. Those with a Bachelor’s degreewith adequate relevantwork experiencewill also be considered.
• Demonstrated experience in field data collection with a strong understanding of the context of rural Karnataka
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
