About the Organization

Swaniti Initiative is a social enterprise that is working at the intersection of climate, governance and last mile delivery. We believe that while the willingness and resources exist, there are fundamental gaps in the execution within communities that is the biggest crisis in the climate movement. Accordingly, Swaniti works with subnational governments to conduct microplanning exercises with consultations with community and key stakeholders to understand the pathways forward, provide technical assistance to subnational governments to provide support in program implementation and support in monitoring and delivery of programs.

Swaniti has been working across multiple geographies in the global south to unlock capital. Our three core metrics include unlocking public capital, ensuring last mile communities are directly benefitted and creating systemic changes in the public service systems. While we are continuing to focus on impact, it is critical to have a lead who has a deep understanding about monitoring, evaluation and learning. Our intention is to create an institutional capabilities to measure and document the scale of our impact and look at how learning can be replicated across the institution.

Job Description

As part of a strategic collaboration with APEPDCL, we are supporting the planning and deployment of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations across the eastern region of Andhra Pradesh. To strengthen our data-driven siting strategy, we are seeking a skilled GIS Consultant to lead advanced geospatial analysis and mapping for optimal location identification of EV chargers.

Job Responsibilities

• GIS-based Mapping of existing infrastructure, road networks, high-demand urban zones, and other key factors which are required for the EV chargers optimal mapping.
• Weighted Overlay Analysis, proximity analysis and MCDA analysis
• Site Suitability Analysis.
• Final location identification for EV chargers.
• Coordination with swaniti team to align spatial data layers, ground-level information and inclusion of other important points for final report.
• Future scalability and network optimization.
• Brief report related to methodology adopted for the complete geo spatial analysis.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in GIS, preferably in energy, transportation, or urban planning domains.
• Proficiency in ArcGIS, QGIS, or other geospatial platforms.
• Experience with geospatial analysis for infrastructure development.
• Familiarity with electrical utility networks, grid mapping, or EV infrastructure planning is preferred.
• Ability to deliver high-quality outputs within agreed timelines.
