Job Summary: We are looking for a dedicated, experienced, and versatile mid senior level Gender Consultant to support us in integrating gender perspective in an adolescent health and wellbeing program. The ideal candidate must possess expertise in gender and health, along with experience in strategizing and implementing gender intersectionality interventions within a public health framework.

This role will be responsible for but not limited to the following:  

  • The Gender Consultant is expected to lead and support planning, strategy and designing of adolescent health program with systems change approach to achieve gender-equitable health outcomes.
  • Evidence synthesis around key challenges, social determinants through primary and secondary research, Gender analysis, gender mainstreaming in intervention design, and deployment of bottom-up participatory approaches with a gender lens. Demonstrated proficiency in critically analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • The candidate should have a strong command of developing and utilizing gender mainstreaming tools and methods. skills. This role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams internally and externally.
  • They should be capable of working independently and flexibly, and we highly value qualities such as resourcefulness, responsibility, tenacity, independence, energy, and work ethics.
  • Ability to deliver in tight timelines

Desirable Qualification & Experience :

  • At least 10+ years of relevant professional experience working to advancing gender equality (with an intersectional lens)
  • Degree in Gender Studies, public health, social sciences, or related field with experience working with government systems & communities of gender issues, particularly in the context of health and development.

Essential Skills:

• Experience in designing, managing, and implementing health programs with a strong gender focus. Proven experience in integrating considerations into health-related projects.

• Good understanding and knowledge of the health system and government setup.

• Preferred-Strong liaising with government counterparts, technical associations, and implementation organizations in the ecosystem

• Excellent knowledge.

• Experience in qualitative and quantitative research and publications in peer reviewed journals

 • Expertise in gender analysis tools and methodologies.

• Knowledge of statistical software like SPSS/STATA/SAS/R/others); qualitative data analysis software

• Strong communication (written and verbal) skills. Proven record of drafting winning proposals

Travel:   50% travel
