Action For India (AFI) is a pioneering non-profit organization committed to helping social entrepreneurs in India scale their impact. Founded in 2012, AFI has built a vibrant ecosystem connecting high-potential entrepreneurs with critical resources — funding, mentorship, policy access, technology partners, and the global Indian diaspora.

With operations in India and the US (registered as a Section 8 Company and a 501(c)(3), respectively), AFI has worked closely with 1,000+ social entrepreneurs over the past decade. Collectively, these ventures have touched millions of lives across education, healthcare, agriculture, livelihoods, financial inclusion, and climate.

Job Description

The Innovation Fellows program is a 6-month fellowship aimed at supporting the execution of AFI’s AI+Impact Accelerator Cohort. Fellows will work closely with the AFI program team, Advisory Council, and selected startups to drive operational excellence and ecosystem engagement. This is an excellent opportunity for young professionals and students eager to gain hands-on exposure to the startup and social impact ecosystem.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in program execution of the AI+Impact Cohort, including coordination with startups, mentors, and partners.
• Support Advisory Council meetings: scheduling, logistics, documentation, and follow-ups.
• Manage cohort applications and outreach by helping track submissions and interacting with potential startups.
• Contribute to social media and communications for the program in collaboration with the marketing team.
• Assist in organizing knowledge-building sessions, mentoring sessions, and hurdle meetings.
• Prepare briefs, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide research support: mapping ecosystem players, potential sponsors, and impact stories.
• Actively contribute ideas to enhance the cohort experience.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Students or early-career professionals interested in startups, AI, or social impact.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable with online collaboration tools (Google Workspace, MS Office).
• Passionate, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
