Field of activity

In India, social protection for workers in the informal sector and their families is underdeveloped. Affected is a large part of the population, because in the informal sector, about 90 percent of the working population. They are exposed to a high risk of poverty, which increases in the event of illness, accident or loss of earning capacity in old age.

On behalf of BMZ, the "German-Indian Social Security Program" supports the Indian government in its goal of improving the social security system for informal employees and their families. It advises the central government, in particular the Ministry of Health, and the Indian states on the establishment and expansion of health insurance Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY). At present, around 40 million families are insured in RSBY. The government wants to expand health insurance coverage for informal employees. For this purpose, RSBY will be transferred to a National Health Protection Scheme (NHPS) with even greater range and improved service catalog. Your tasks

We offer you an interesting, varied and demanding area of ​​responsibility, in which you get a deeper insight into German development cooperation in India, especially in the field of social security and health insurance. Their tasks consist in the technical and organizational support of the project. These include, among other things, the technical assistance for consulting services to the Ministry, research, independent work on topics, project management, preparation and follow-up of events and meetings, ad-hoc support of managers and other colleagues etc ..

Your profile

You have a completed undergraduate degree or have the fourth semester of your degree program in a relevant subject, eg. B. Economics, health or social sciences completed.

You have a good knowledge of German development cooperation and possibly first work experience in developing and emerging countries. Prerequisites in the field of social security and / or social security in case of illness are a prerequisite for the internship. You have excellent German and English proficiency in spoken and written. You are safe in dealing with MS Office products and bring team spirit, initiative and independence as well as creativity. They can quickly adapt to new tasks and situations, and have the ability to easily and comprehensively communicate complex issues in writing.
