Job Description

The Legal & Policy Team is Snap’s dedicated in-house law firm, policy consultant, advocate, thought partner, and all-around advisor. This team helps Snap do the right thing the right way, make better decisions, understand and manage risks, and creatively navigate challenges, both external and internal. We partner with Snap team members on a wide array of matters, including privacy, product, IP, commercial transactions, corporate governance, employment, acquisitions, litigation, and policy, and social impact.  Job Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Head of Public Policy for South Asia and based out of New Delhi, you’ll support the development and execution of a public policy strategy for India and other key markets in the  South Asia region. You will help regulators internalise Snap’s distinct design and value proposition and ensure that Snap’s voice is heard and understood by policy stakeholders.
  • Horizon scan and work closely with Snap’s internal teams, including the broader Public Policy team, Legal and Business, to analyse legislative/policy initiatives impacting their areas, understand their priorities, advise on risks and opportunities, and develop policy positions and approaches that advance the interests of Snap.
  • Support senior management and executive briefings and engagements related to India and South Asia, including APAC and global leadership.
  • Partner with the Communications team to help them appropriately respond to media inquiries, by providing the correct policy narrative that best represents Snap Inc.
  • Partner with consultants as necessary to assist Snap in South Asia.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • A sound understanding of India and South Asia’s  technology policy landscape.
  • Excellent business writing and verbal communication skills.
  • A proven ability for influencing, and working with, government officials, regulators, NGOs, coalitions and other partner groups that operate in India’s technology policy landscape.
  • Ability to work with Snap business to identify pertinent issues and orient the Public Policy team to meet priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of external groups and individuals, including those who may be opponents or critics.
  • Articulate, thoughtful and strong decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a self-starter in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
  • Kindness, creativity, intelligence and an instinctual appreciation for Snapchat, and Snap’s mission.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
  • 4+ years of relevant public policy experience in India.
