About the Organization
Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation (www.brlf.in) is an autonomous body established in 2013 through a Union Cabinet decision by the Government of India. With a vision to transform the lives and livelihoods of the most vulnerable populations across India, BRLF plays a crucial role in nurturing and facilitating civil society action in partnership with the government and people’s institutions. Its mandate encompasses a range of objectives, including bridging the gap between program outlays and outcomes, improving implementation of government flagship programs, providing grant support to civil society Organisations (CSOs), and promoting partnerships for inclusive, sustainable development.
Job Description
BRLF is looking for passionate and motivated professionals to join SPMU, Nagpur, Maharashtra. The Livelihoods Integrator shall be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities:
- Assist technical personnel in the Gram Panchayats and Block to revisit INRM DPRs and develop livelihood plans and practices of farm, off-farm, non-farm and innovative and sustainable livelihood activities with a focus on integrating Natural Resource Management, production cluster development approach in convergence with the VB-G-RAM-G (MGNREGS) and other government flagship schemes.
- Assist CSO partners in preparing technical training materials and modules and taking active roles in conducting capacity-building - training and exposure visits.
- Assist CSO partners for Demonstration, FFS, Training and Capacity Building: Plan and implement agricultural training programs and extension activities, including field demonstrations and trials of improved and sustainable farming technologies, with a focus on Climate-Resilient Agriculture, Horticulture, Vegetable, and Floriculture practices
- Should be motivated to work in the villages and government stakeholders, especially with deprived sections, and willing to acquire new knowledge and skills relevant to the project and guide implementation processes.
- Regular visit to the field areas, provide technical assistance/handholding to stakeholders at the grassroots (community, gram panchayat, front-line workers of the government) for proper implementation of INRM works, including livelihoods augmentation.
- Facilitate preparation of Detail Project Reports to the CSOs. Support panchayats to administer and manage to implement the VB-G-RAM-G (MGNREGS) and other convergence works in the identified blocks.
- Support to the CSOs to implement the increase in the productivity and production of the crop by creating Producers’ Groups, Production Clusters, and their economic institutions (POs / PCs) through marketing, which will lead to an increase in income of the targeted community.
- Facilitate the linkages of POs/PCs with relevant stakeholders and government departments.
- Facilitate the organization of district and state meetings to ensure the execution and implementation of DPR and adequate support is provided to CSOs in the field.
- Coordinate with various departments and external stakeholders in the organization for the livelihood collaboration developing different models.
- Establish healthy working relationships with State, district and block-level stakeholders, govt. agencies/ PRIs and rural communities.
- Ensure compliance with Systems Processes and reporting.
- Support in organizing regional and state events and regular communication with all stakeholders.
- The Livelihoods Integrator shall co-design, handhold and monitor progress of different livelihoods interventions across all the project blocks in close coordination with the regional coordinators, MIS expert and report to the SPMU Team Leader.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
Applicants must have completed Four Years Graduation (BSC or MSC in Agriculture or B.Tech./Mtech in Agriculture) from a UGC-recognized university (Regular only).
Experience:
- Minimum Seven to eight years of grass-root experience working in rural livelihoods domain or in Watershed/ Natural Resource Management.
- Prior experience of leading a team of professionals and different projects.
- Convergence experiences with Govt. flagship schemes shall be given preference.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent speaking, reading, and writing skills in English and Marathi (Priority) and in Hindi (Preferred) are required;
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural/ multi-disciplinary team;
- Proven skills in documentation, report writing, and knowledge management, including experience preparing narrative reports, case studies, and success stories.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data management tools.
- Ability to multi-task and work well in such a team;
- Willing to travel across the project locations.
