Job Description
WJCF is seeking a highly motivated individual with outstanding credentials and demonstrated analytical abilities to work within NCVBDC. The Analyst would deliver critical and on-demand program insights by leveraging multiple data sources and field insights. They will also support data collation, analysis and visualization and identification of innovative approaches/technologies to support the elimination goals. The Analyst will report to the Lead for the VBD TSU.
Job Responsibilities
- Map and assess quality, credibility, and timeliness of entomological data collection and reporting through routine interactions with state and sub-state officials.
- Advise TSU colleagues and NCVBDC counterparts on data gaps, staff data input capacity, and strategies for addressing the same.
- Consolidate and clean data related to vector control and conduct multi-dimensional analysis for offering purposive insights to officials at NCVBDC.
- Develop and socialize pre-defined and custom-defined reports and dashboards for NCVBDC, state, and sub-state functionaries to plan vector control activities and monitor and evaluate the same.
- Conduct appropriate statistical analyses to correlate program performance with vector control activities, detect resistance patterns from programmatic data, and monitor performance of new vector control products.
- Develop technical briefs and fact sheets to communicate key findings and suggestions across a matrixed government organization.
- Support the documentation of program progress through reports, presentations, and templates for effective internal use and dissemination of reports at the state and national levels.
- Undertake periodic visits to States/UTs and districts to identify challenges and address gaps.
- Undertake other responsibilities as needed.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in zoology, biology, environmental science, public health, statistics, economics, life sciences or other related fields with minimum 2 years of professional experience; or master’s degree with minimum 2 year of professional experience.
- Professional experience in a dynamic and innovative work environment, inter alia, vector research, life science research, impact evaluation, development consulting, public sector advisory.
- Previous experience working with the VBD program at the national or state levels, or with national institutes engaged in VBD research will be an advantage.
- Previous experience with M&E, Data analytics and dashboard development for funded projects.
- High levels of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently in high-pressure and unstructured settings, to work closely within and across other teams and to adapt to new environments and challenges.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, problem-solving and strong organizational abilities and detail-oriented approach.
- Willingness to travel frequently (~30-40% time)
