Job Description

The Manager – Communications will be responsible for designing and executing CfE’s communication strategy to inspire, engage, and amplify the impact of entrepreneurship at Ashoka University. This role requires strong storytelling, reporting, and digital communication skills to showcase CfE’s initiatives, student ventures, and thought leadership to internal and external stakeholders.

The position will manage all communications across platforms, from reports to social media, ensuring that CfE’s voice is consistent, compelling, and aligned with Ashoka’s brand ethos. By combining rigorous reporting with powerful storytelling, this role ensures that CfE’s initiatives reach and inspire diverse audiences from students on campus to funders, alumni, and the broader startup ecosystem. The role will play a central part in building CfE’s identity as a hub of entrepreneurial energy and a thought leader.

This role will also require creativity, agility, and strong digital storytelling skills, combining real-time event coverage, campaign management, and long-term brand building. The incumbent in this role will be the digital storyteller of CfE, shaping how the Centre’s work is seen by students, the Ashoka community, and the broader world. By amplifying impact, engaging audiences, and keeping CfE’s social presence dynamic and inspiring, this role ensures that entrepreneurship at Ashoka is not just lived on campus, but celebrated globally.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting & Documentation

  • Lead the preparation of CfE’s Annual Report, highlighting achievements, impact, and stories of change.
  • Create periodic reports and presentations for Board of Trustees, funders and donors, ensuring clarity, transparency, and impact measurement.
  • Maintain an updated repository of program outcomes, media mentions, and success stories.

Storytelling & Inspiration

  • Identify and showcase inspirational stories of students, startups, mentors, and ecosystem partners connected with CfE.
  • Develop content that motivates students, alumni, and external audiences to engage with entrepreneurship.
  • Craft case studies, profiles, and narratives that highlight the transformative role of CfE.

Marketing & Event Amplification

  • Create and execute marketing strategies for all CfE events (Startup Ashoka, Entrepreneurship Haat, Weekender, Speaker Series, etc.).
  • Design promotional campaigns to maximize student participation and visibility.
  • Capture and disseminate event highlights through newsletters, social media, and web features.

Digital & Platform Management

  • Manage CfE’s social media presence across platforms, ensuring engaging, high-quality, and timely content.
  • Oversee the CfE website, keeping content fresh, relevant, and aligned with CfE’s activities and brand.
  • Compile and circulate updates for the university newsletter and publish similar updates for CFE stakeholders (students, faculty, alumni, funders).

Guest Speaker & Outreach Communication

  • Design communication campaigns around CfE’s guest speaker sessions (Inspiring Speaker Series, Passion Entrepreneurship Series).
  • Develop pre-event and post-event content to extend the impact of these sessions.

Brand & Collaboration

  • Ensure all communication is consistent with Ashoka University’s brand guidelines.
  • Work with student clubs, societies, and volunteers to synergize communications across campus.
  • Collaborate with other university offices (communications, development, alumni) to align messaging.

Social Media & Community Building

  • Develop and execute CfE’s social media strategy across platforms, aligning content with the academic calendar, marquee events, and student milestones. Create compelling multimedia stories that spotlight student startups, alumni ventures, mentors, and guest speakers while engaging actively with students, alumni, partners, and clubs to foster a vibrant entrepreneurial community.
  • Track and report performance metrics through regular dashboards, using data insights to refine strategy. Collaborate with vendors, design, and communications teams to ensure all content reflects CfE’s values, impact, and brand guidelines.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field preferred.
  • 5–8 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, or media.
  • Strong experience in storytelling, content creation, and managing digital platforms.
  • Expertise with content creation tools, including AI proficiency  (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, video editing software).
  • Familiarity with social media management tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, or similar).
  • Prior experience in higher education, startups, or social impact sector desirable

Skill and Competence:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong design sense; ability to work with creative tools or collaborate with designers.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple platforms (social media, website, newsletters).
  • Project management skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Passion for entrepreneurship, youth development, and inspirational storytelling.
  • Collaborative mindset to work with students, faculty, and external partners.
