About the Organization

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The year 1964 was an important landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was declared Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.

Job Description

The programme coordinator will oversee the implementation of the project across states in India. They will be responsible for working with the regional coordinators to ensure timely and ethical field work, strong data collection and management, as well as assisting other project leaders in writing reports, research documents, and popular articles.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Strong qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis knowledge.

• Strong background knowledge in conservation, protected areas, and relocation issues.
• Proficiency in the requisite local language of the research location.
• Independent worker with strong time management skills.
• Knowledge about fieldwork or community research is preferred.
