Purpose of Job
|
Program Manager will be supporting the strategic planning, curriculum development, and implementation of quality protocols for anemia management in Bihar. S/he will be responsible for district-level program implementation and operations, ensuring seamless execution of project activities on the ground. This role involves close coordination with District Health Society and district health officials to ensure smooth program interventions and adherence to treatment protocols.

Essential Qualifications
|
Master’s degree in Public Health/ Health Administration/ Social Sciences, or a related field.
|
Essential Experience
|
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in program implementation, training, health systems strengthening, or public health interventions.
- Experience working with state/national health & nutrition programs, NHM, or donor-funded projects.
- Experience in managing field teams and operational planning at the district level.
- Strong expertise in maternal and child nutrition care and program implementation.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.

- Ability to work in low-resource settings and travel frequently within districts.
- Proficiency in Hindi and English; knowledge of regional languages is a plus.

Key Roles/Responsibilities:
Project & Team Management
- Define Project Goals, Design Project Operation plans & Milestones.
- Performance Management & Capacity Building of team members for smooth execution of anemia management interventions.
- Ensure effective dissemination and implementation of SOPs in the district.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress, identify challenges, and support corrective actions.
- Ensure timely reporting of district-level programmatic and operational data to state teams.
Government Liaison & Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide technical support to the Health Department to pursue its goals of departmental reorganization for greater effectiveness in attaining long term nutrition goals.
- Lead collaboration with district health authorities in co designing implementation approaches and technical interventions for various health priorities.
- Represent the project in district-level meetings, discussion forums, and technical working groups.
- Work closely with District Health Officials, Medical Officers, and Frontline Health Workers (FLWs) to ensure proper implementation.
Product Customization and Development
- Contribute in the designing and development of products on Maternal Anemia for Public System Health officials and workers.
- Assist in the development of comprehensive role definitions for different cadres such as ANMs, CHOs, Staff Nurses, MOICs, and district health officials.
- Provide support to test and roll out modules for healthcare providers involved in anemia management.
- Assist in the customization of products to ensure their relevance to frontline health workers, mid-level managers, and administrators.
- Support the integration of new clinical guidelines into the existing training framework.
Executing Large Scale Capacity Building Activities for Govt Stakeholders
- Support DHS and CS in Planning & Budgeting for Large Scale Training and Capacity Building activities in alignment with SIHFW & SHS training cell for management of anemia at outreach and in facilities.
- Execution of large-scale Quality Training for Frontline workers and Middle Managers through Govt. systems.
Communication & Documentation
- Documentation of on-ground learning and communication of program achievements / outcomes, through notes, presentations, reports, etc.
- Preparing and managing documentation related to program implementation, e.g. approvals, letters, process documents, etc.
