Job Description

PxD is looking for a Project Manager to join our team embedded within a government ministry. We’re looking for a self-starter with excellent project management skills, and the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders to drive adoption of digital agricultural initiatives at scale, with a focus on designing impactful and inclusive solutions.

The post-holder should have an understanding for and appreciation of digital technology adoption, scaling through government.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end implementation of projects. Develop project roadmaps, work plans, manage stakeholder communications, and budgets.
  • Develop and manage monitoring systems, in consultation with team leadership and PxD’s cross-functional teams -  including technology, programs and research.
  • Manage project contracts, grants and sub-partner monitoring functions.
  • Build strong relationships with a variety of partners, including at every level of Government.
  • Support the development of operational toolkits, communication materials and other tools that could improve the team’s functioning.
  • Manage day-to-day operations within a Government setting.
  • Support a team culture of continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to PxD institutional knowledge management, internal learning efforts and general management and operational activities.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members including field associates, technical staff, call center managers, among others

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Extremely organized: You will be managing lots of tasks and relationships. You will need to be organized to stay on top of them.
  • A proactive problem solver: You will need to notice when things need to be fixed, and then fix them, pulling in different teams at PxD as needed.
  • Personable and great with communication: You’ll need to be clear and professional whilst communicating with various stakeholders around the world, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excited by work that demands speed, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • A strong negotiator and decision-maker.
  • Interested in leveraging technology for impact.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • MBA/MPP,  Bachelor's degree or an industry-relevant equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience at manager-level leading large programs and/or bringing individual projects to scale.
  • Experience with developing partnerships, communications and outreach.
  • Experience hiring and supporting a high performance team.
  • A background in strategic development.
  • Experience incorporating evidence gathered via research into user-centric program delivery; driving a culture of continuous innovation;
  • A familiarity with AI-powered solutions.
