About ActionAid Association:

ActionAid Association (AAA) is a national organization and an affiliate of ActionAid International federation, a global movement of people working in solidarity with the most marginalized communities to achieve a greater modicum of Social and Ecological Justice.

Working in India since 1972, AAA currently operates out of 12 Regional Offices, spread across 25 States and one Union Territory. A non-profit, AAA has been working with people, by building their agencies and solidarities at local, national and international levels.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Regional Manager will be responsible for building partnerships with social organizations to advance the work around rights and justice for poor and marginalized communities in line with ActionAid’s vision, mission and strategy towards social and ecological justice.
  • S/he will work through the perspective of social and ecological justice and towards supporting local grounded social formations to facilitate empowerment and capacity building of the marginalized and excluded communities.
  • S/he will also proactively engage in Advocacy & Policy, campaign at State and national level and will work with national actors including youth and media organizations, trade unions and political formations to secure social and ecological justice. 
  • S/he will also be responsible in building knowledge partnership with civil society groups, activists, academics and research institutions to create knowledge forums on critical issues of social action.
  • The incumbent will lead a team of colleagues enabling an environment for innovation and quality delivery towards achieving ActionAid Association/India Country Strategy Paper goals.
  • S/he will also proactively resource the new strategy with all channels of fundraising individual, institutional including governmental and from the corporate sector

Skills and Competencies             

  • Have Post Graduate degree in Social Work/Social Sciences/Rural Development/Management or its equivalent.
  • Have minimum relevant professional experience of 8-10 years.
  • Have experience in planning, budgeting, implementing, monitoring and evaluating development projects.
  • Possess strong leadership and administrative skills, proven capacity of leading a team of development professionals and liaising and building networks with Civil Society Organisations, NGOs, INGOs, Government and other agencies.
  • Should be gender and diversity sensitive and have conviction and skills for the empowerment of the marginalized and excluded social groups.
  • Have strong communication skills-knowledge of regional/local language will be an added advantage.
  • Preferably have an activist background;
  • Have strong drive, initiative and motivation, and be capable to inspiring, nurturing and motivating the team towards fulfilling organizational priorities.

Salary & Benefits

Approx - INR 9.67 Lakhs CTO (Cost to Organisation)– per annum. This includes PF contribution.

In addition, other benefits - Group Medical Insurance with coverage of Staff & Dependents; Personal Accident Insurance of staff and gratuity is payable as per law and norms of the organisation.
