Job Description

Brij Disa Centre for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (CDSA) at IIM Ahmedabad invites the applications for Research Assistant/Associate position in the domain of Economics/Finance and Artificial Intelligence.

Job Responsibilities

• The work will involve theoretical and empirical analysis.
• Theoretical work will include organizing related literature, replicating papers and solving models.
• Empirical work will involve coding, collecting, organizing, visualizing, and analyzing data (both large-scale and small-scale data sets), and writing reports. It also involves running surveys and experiments.
• Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present results at conferences.
• Along with research support, the research associate is also expected to help with certain administrative responsibilities at the centre.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Economics / Engineering disciplines / Statistics / Operations Research / Physics / Applied Mathematics, or another discipline that requires strong mathematical skills. Candidates with a Master’s degree or higher will be preferred.(Those awaiting their degree may also apply.)
• Knowledge of concepts related to machine learning and statistics
• Ideally, candidates will have prior experience/training in handling data sets. Candidates with a good understanding of econometric techniques, economic concepts, and good communication skills in English will be given preference.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, STATA, R, or MATLAB
• There should be an open mind to learning new concepts. We appreciate creativity and hard work.
