The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The year 1964 was an important landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was declared Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.

Job Description

Vacancy for 10 Research Assistant positions for the Social Audit of Land Assembly Process in Amaravati Capital Region Andhra Pradesh sanctioned to Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Hyderabad Off-Campus, Telangana State.

 The study largely depends on the information and data to be gathered from the primary stakeholders including the land-holders and the landless chosen as the sources of information. The project is located at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Hyderabad, Telangana.

TISS has long been dedicated to championing social justice, promoting gender equity, and defending the rights of marginalized communities across India. TISS provides an intellectually stimulating environment and expects high quality performance.

A total of 10 Research Assistants are required at present for full-time work at the Amaravati capital region in Andhra Pradesh.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

Preferences will be given to candidates with the following educational and experience criteria

• Graduation preferably in Social Sciences and Social Work with 55% of marks
• Skills to interview and handle the data using a handheld devise-phone/Tablet
• Verbal and written fluency in Telugu is essential
• Prior experience in any research project and collecting household level data will be given preference
• Candidates must demonstrate willingness to travel as and when required as per the project requirements

Salary

The term for the recruitment is for one month and can be extended. Salary as per the norms of the institute is Rs 20000/- per month and food and accommodation will be provided for the days of field work
