Background / General description

Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Carry out data analysis using relevant statistical techniques and analytics tools
  • Manage and update data repositories and analyses to cater to ongoing data analysis requests
  • Conduct secondary research on key documents and compile in-depth findings and reports.
  • Collect and distil information from internal and external sources and provide highlights to the appropriate audience(s)
  • Ensure consistent adherence to corporate KM guidelines
  • Record and report basic metrics that measure the effectiveness of KM products and services.
  • Adhere to established service standards of time, quantity, and quality.
  • Candidate will be responsible for delivering outputs of high quality and in compliance with Bank policies and procedures

 Selection Criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, or Humanities.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience with multilateral organizations, developmental institutions, or analytics/Consulting organizations will be an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, and highly detail oriented.
  • Good communication skills – written and oral – are critical; ability to rapidly write reports and presentations with clear, concise, and impactful messages is essential.
  • Working knowledge of economic databases
  • Experience working with statistical packages including R, Stata, SPSS
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, with a good command over MS. Excel; knowledge of Tableau and MS SharePoint will be a plus.
  • Working knowledge of handling large datasets using MS. Access and R in a highly organized manner.
  • Ability to synthesize a lot of information for a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to write well with the objective of communicating complex ideas and problems to non-expert audiences.
  • Ability to juggle numerous competing demands and priorities, respond quickly to client requests, and set priorities.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop effective relations within the Bank
  • General Economic / Sectoral Knowledge and Analytical Skills - Possesses a demonstrated track record of working with economic and sectoral data, and analytical tools and models to conduct economic / sectoral analyses to produce user-friendly written outputs; understands underlying statistical concepts.
  • Proficiency in synthesizing key messages from high level discussions, transforming these into actionable statements.
  • The candidate should be able to deal sensitively in multicultural environments and build effective working relations with the client and colleagues.
  • Ability to operate in unstructured environments and multi-task effectively.
