Job Summary:

The SPL will be primarily responsible for providing programmatic support in the district, implementing policies and refining processes for systems strengthening, transforming capabilities and behaviors, and building ownership. As a part of the district team S/He will play a critical role in ensuring quality of services provided to District and Sub District Hospitals. S/He will liaison with DM/ DHS / Nursing School In charge /Civil Surgeon/DS on an ongoing basis and seek their intervention, as and when required. S/He will extend support to other district team members, as per program requirement. H/She will be self-driven and lead a team independently with required support from State/ Regional team.

•S/He will provide leadership to the field team and support in developing detailed implementation plans based on KRA and accomplishing planned activities in the district.

•Identify leadership needs of different Government stakeholders and influence their leadership qualities to own program priorities to improve health outcomes.

•Will ensure quality implementation of leadership and technical training programs at District and sub district level.

•Provide guidance and support to field team in implementation of assigned activities in the district smoothly.

•Stay updated on National programs related to these domains.

•Work cohesively in co designing innovative strategies, testing their feasibility, and scaling it across district.

•S/He will create an environment in which each team member can contribute effectively and efficiently.

•S/He will be responsible for identifying as well as addressing system level challenges/ operational issues, gaps hindering program implementation. S/he will also flag those issues and challenges at higher levels for advocacy.

•Helping facilities improve overall quality of RMNCH care and help facilities reach BeMONC and CeMONC functionality.

•Network and liaison with other key stakeholders in the district such as Government bodies, and other development partners.

•Provide support to field team in diagnostic analysis/ studies of different departments of District Hospital and ANM/GNM nursing school.

•Will work closely with District Magistrate/ Civil Surgeon/ DHS and colleagues in the district to develop training strategies for functionaries of government programs at all levels, particularly for areas within the mandate of the State.

•Will engage in improving soft and behavioral skill sets through virtual learning platforms and practical implementation sessions at field level.

                 • Will be accountable for programmatic results in District level

                 •  S/He will use IT enabled services in the areas of planning and effective implementation of planned objectives.

Desirable Qualification & Experience:

Essential

BSc Nursing with minimum 2 years’ experience post BSc/ Basic in clinical or mentoring or monitoring mentoring work.

OR

MSc Nursing

Preferred

Experience of working in close collaboration with government functionaries will be given preference.

• Ability to read, write clearly in English and/or Hindi.

•Competency and ability in verbal communication to convey technical content among key stakeholders.

•Demonstrate ability to understand and influence formal communication processes with government.

•Demonstrate ability to manage a team with diverse backgrounds.

•Demonstrate efficient decision making and problem-solving skills.

•Demonstrate ability to show continuous focus to achieve better results.

•Follow gender and rights-based approaches at the workplace as a team player and show respect for all colleagues  and stakeholders.

Travel:

Ability to travel extensively within and, outside the designated district.
