About the Organization
Given the emerging importance of urban areas in shaping India’s journey toward becoming a Viksit Bharat, ISPP has launched the Centre for Urban Transitions (ICUT). The Centre is envisioned as a hub for forward-looking research, capacity building, and policy advisory in the areas of integrated urban management and urban development. Over time, ICUT aims to build a comprehensive repository of online learning resources in urban planning and management.
The Centre will operate through a network of senior empaneled experts and a small core of full-time professionals. A senior faculty member at ISPP will serve as the Centre’s Director on a part-time basis.
Job Description
ISPP is currently looking to recruit two highly motivated Manager who will play a pivotal role in establishing and scaling the work of ICUT. This individual will contribute to research, programme design and delivery, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge dissemination in the urban sector.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the Director in shaping the Centre’s research and training agenda
- Design and deliver training programmes in integrated urban management and urban transitions
- Undertake or coordinate applied research projects, policy briefs, and advisory assignments
- Build partnerships with urban local bodies, think tanks, academic institutions, and government agencies
- Develop knowledge products, case studies, and online learning materials
- Manage programme operations, logistics, reporting, and communications
- Represent ICUT at urban development forums, conferences, and stakeholder meetings
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in research, consulting, capacity building, or project implementation in the urban sector
- Strong understanding of urban governance, infrastructure, mobility, land-use, or public finance is preferred
- Prior experience working with government agencies, urban think tanks, or multilateral institutions is desirable
Educational Qualification
- Urban Planning Track: Postgraduate degree in Urban Planning, Urban Management, Urban Economics, or a closely related field
- Policy/Development Track: Postgraduate degree in Economics, Public Policy, Management, or a related discipline
Skills
- Excellent analytical and writing skills
- Ability to design and manage capacity-building programmes
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Self-driven with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
