About the Organization

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The year 1964 was an important landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was declared Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.

Job Description

The individual shall be responsible to manage and execute research tasks, administrative and logistic operations of the surveys. The responsibilities shall mainly include literature review, tool development, training the field investigators, fieldwork monitoring, data management, analysis, documentation, report writing and ground logistic management along with any other task required for the successful completion of the projects.

Required Technical Skills (Qualitative Research): Knowledge and hands on experience with Nvivo/ AtlasTi packages for qualitative data analysis.

Required Technical Skills (Quantitative Research): Knowledge and hands on experience with SPSS/STATA packages and quantitative data analyses techniques.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Relevant master’s degree in social science/public health.
• Conversant with required research methods, tools, and techniques.
• Good communication and writing skills.
• Ability to coordinate and perform in team environment and willing to travel extensively for data collection.

Desirable:

• Work experience of 1-2 years and ability to communicate in Hindi/Marathi.

Salary

INR 57, 150 per month (Monthly salary of 45000 with 27% HRA)
