Summary:
The Manager, Community Organising is a new role at SLF. The person will primarily be responsible for mobilizing and organizing impacted communities from across the country. The person will design, initiate and implement outreach strategies to mobilize families and individuals affected by road crashes as well as provide support in procedural and other matters.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Outreach and engagement with road crash victims or their families.
- Mobilising people to create a community of affected families and individuals
- Lead the development of such a community as well as explore opportunities to widen the engagement. Create simple tech-based frameworks to ensure regular coordination and communication within the community to provide them requisite support.
- Conduct site visits for high casualty crashes and initiate outreach with impacted families.
- Create systems and protocols through proper debriefs and evaluation and ensure that the lessons learnt from each visit are applied in the next through best practices, templates etc
- Maintain and utilize a working knowledge of significant developments, trends, and best practices in the field of public engagement / organizing.
- Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as maybe assigned.
Basic Qualification:
- Strong experience and knowledge of community mobilization, grassroots organizing and working with grassroot partners, coalitions and individuals.
- Minimum 5 years’ work experience with Indian or International NGOs and understanding of people’s movements.
- Trained Psychologist with experience of working with trauma victims (preferable, not mandatory)
- Ability to work and deal with people from diverse backgrounds and communities
- Ability to connect with different cultural and situational realities.
- Must be open to travelling at the national, regional and local levels at short notice.
- Excellent communicator with good persuasion skills.
